Delivery Manager
CHELTENHAM,
United Kingdom
Full job description
Company Overview
We're a small NetSuite consultancy that helps finance teams automate work they shouldn't be doing manually. We build software products and deliver consulting projects for clients ranging from fast-growing businesses to listed companies.
We're eight people. We're profitable. We do interesting, technically demanding work — revenue recognition, payment automation, AI-powered document processing. We're not trying to grow headcount for the sake of it; we're trying to build a business that scales through better systems, not more people.
We're looking for someone to own and evolve delivery across the business.
What this role actually is
Your job is to make sure clients consistently get what they were promised, when they were promised it — and that delivery becomes more predictable and less manual over time.
In the short term, that means actively running delivery: tracking progress, chasing when things slip, and keeping clients informed.
In the medium term, it means building systems so that fewer things need chasing in the first place.
You'll be the person who cares most about whether projects are on track, whether delivery is improving, and whether we're removing friction rather than working around it.
You'll also own the operational backbone of the business: billing, contracts, invoicing, and internal workflows. One of your explicit goals will be to reduce manual admin and move us toward automated, predictable billing.
This role has real authority. You won't be doing the technical work, but you will own delivery outcomes — including pushing consultants (politely but firmly) when commitments aren't being met.
Day to day, you would:
- Run a short daily standup to review priorities and blockers
- Run a brief end-of-day check-in to confirm progress and time logging
- Track all active projects and spot slippage early
- Chase consultants when deliverables are at risk — directly and constructively
- Handle client communications on project status and expectations
- Own billing, contracts, invoicing, and payment follow-up
- Continuously improve how we run projects and bill clients
- Build simple dashboards or tracking tools so delivery is visible, not guesswork
- Coordinate light marketing activity (podcast scheduling, outreach support)
What we're looking for
Personality and mindset matter more than background.
You'll do well in this role if you:
- Take ownership naturally — you don't wait to be asked
- Are comfortable pushing people who are more senior or more technical than you
- Care about outcomes, not theatre
- Like simplifying messy processes
- Are organised, direct, and clear in your communication
- Enjoy making things run better month by month
We're not looking for someone who wants to create heavy process or bureaucracy. We are looking for someone who will notice when something is inefficient and quietly fix it.
Relevant backgrounds might include project or delivery roles in agencies or consultancies, operations roles in fast-moving SMEs, or customer success roles with real ownership. NetSuite or ERP experience is not required — we can teach the context. Drive, judgement, and follow-through are non-negotiable.
What we offer
- Salary of £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience
- Based in the Cheltenham area – [office/hybrid/flexible – please specify]
- Sensible hours — we value sustainable work
- Genuine ownership and influence from day one
- The chance to build the delivery engine of a profitable, growing consultancy
